Pyrenees Travels believes that traveling and meeting new people and places is a very valuable tool in developing positive experiences and empathy between people from different cultures. Our trips in the Spanish Pyrenees are based on high standards working with environmentally friendly products and local businesses. In this way, working with small hotels and staff who live in these valleys we have a direct positive effect on the economy of these remote places and their people.
We also support in a more direct way other international charities which we choose for their extraordinary merits, contributing 3% of your trip and donating directly to the organizations. In 2019/20 we will collaborate with Maria and Mikabu and their special Carpio Perez Foundation which operates in some of the poorest villages in Tanzania. It’s an extraordinary example of people giving everything, their struggle and solidarity. They met traveling just like you and I!
The Carpio-Pérez Foundation is an independent, non-governmental, non-profit organization that has been working in Tanzania since 2009 carrying out projects that generate income, health and education so that the most disadvantaged groups: Maasai widows, orphans and the entire Maasai Community including the villages of Arkaria, Lendikinya and Eluwai in the Arusha region, can alleviate to a certain extent the extreme poverty.
