Discover the Pyrenees: Wild Life and Birding in the Pyrenees

Feel the Rhythm of the Pyrenees

The Pyrenees are well-known for their great biodiversity due to the microclimates naturally occurring within the mountain range. And as the mountains are situated in one of the main north-south animal migration routes, there is always a splendour of wildlife to behold.

The altitude of the Pyrenees in Aragon ranges between 500 and 3404 meters of altitude, giving rise to a wide variety of environments, from a typically Mediterranean climate to a very cold boreal climate on the tops of the high mountains. Each of these environments, together with the geological peculiarities, give rise to a large number of species, both flora and fauna, which more or less easily can be seen in this steep territory.
